I started Truckee Water Sports in 2017 with one simple goal: to share the things I love with others and help people succeed along the way.
I’ve always been passionate about everything behind a boat—wakeboarding, wakesurfing, waterskiing, and more. I live by the saying:
“A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.”
There’s nothing more rewarding than watching someone build new skills and confidence that will last a lifetime. Whether it’s their first time on the water or their hundredth, seeing that growth never gets old.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the support of an amazing team.

Paddy Malone (Coach)
My name is Paddy and I’m 19. I was born in San Francisco but recently moved to Truckee to spend more time in the amazing mountains and lakes! I have a passion for all board sports, water or snow. I have been wakeboarding and wake surfing for over 6 years now, mostly with the Team at Truckee Water Sports. In the winter I am a Sugar Bowl Snowboard Freeride Team member and I like to spend all my weekends on the snow. In the summer my passion is being on the water with a board beneath my feet either getting air time or surfing the wake! I’m really looking forward to sharing my tips and tricks with you out on the water this Summer.
Jordyn Taylor (Coach)
I am 13 years old, and I learned how to wakeboard when I was 6 and surf when I was 7 and water ski when I was 9. I was born and raised in Truckee CA, and I love being on the boat or at the beach. This will be my second year working at Truckee Water Sports as a flagger and coach. And when I’m not on the boat I like to hang out with friends. Something else that I love to do when I’m not on the boat is competitive gymnastics. And my favorite candy is sour patch kids, I hope to see you on the boat this summer.
Raquella (Rocky) Menesini-Baden (Boat Captain, Coach)
Hey everyone! I’m Rocky, and I joined the Truckee Water Sports team in 2023. I grew up in Reno, NV where I developed a deep love for the water from a young age. My parents introduced me to water skiing early on, and since then, being on the lake has become a huge part of my life. Thanks to Truckee Water Sports, I’ve been able to expand my skills further to include wake boarding, wake surfing, and coaching others. I’ve been around boats for as long as i can remember – starting at age 5, sitting on my dad’s lap at the wheel. Outside of the Summer season, I’m a college athlete and I try to spend as much quality time as possible with my family. I’m passionate about helping others enjoy the water as much as I do, and I can’t wait to see you out on the lake!
Reese Bickart (Boat Captain, Coach)
I am 23 years old and grew up loving any type of board sport. I moved up to Truckee to pursue my passion of snowboarding and working as a snowboard instructor. This will be my second summer working for Truckee Water Sports and I love the opportunity it gives me to share my passion of board sports and continue coaching year round. I am looking forward to continuing to coach and share my passion of water sports this summer.
